Fundraising Drive for Breast Cancer - Will You Support Me in the Atlanta 2 Day Walk?
Saturday, April 03, 2010
I am participating in the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer on October 2-3, 2010. I am asking for you support as we together support those who are in the fight against breast cancer.
Follow This Link to visit my personal web page and help me in my efforts to support TEAM G.R.A.B. the Boobies (Girls Racing Against Breast Cancer) - my goal is to reach a minimum of $1,000 for the TEAM and the cause!
As many of you know, my Mom, my aunt, my sister Loreen and now my sister, Kerri are all breast cancer survivors. Loreen was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2004. She just passed her 5th year since treatment and recently underwent a mastectomy to further reduce the risk of recurrence.
My mother was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer about 4 months after Loreen and underwent a bilateral mastectomy in the same year.
In November, 2009, my sister Kerri was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer and is now recovering from a bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
The Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is a 10 to 30-mile walk to raise funds and awareness for local Atlanta breast cancer organizations.
It's The Journey, Inc. (ITJ) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 by two-time breast cancer survivor Randi Passoff. ITJ's mission is to strengthen Atlanta's breast cancer community by raising money and awareness for local Atlanta organizations that focus on breast cancer education, research, early detection, awareness and support services, as well as the unmet needs in the breast cancer community.
